Wednesday Motivation: 3 Powerful Ways To Look Like Your Progress

Wednesday Motivation, Wednesday Wisdom, Bible Verses, Phillipians 3:14, I can do all things

This week’s Wednesday motivation is designed to remind you how far you’ve come, where you’re going, and to remember to look like it.

There was once a man who started a business in a storage unit.  He had a sign, a desk and chair, and he wore a Polo shirt with his business name and logo on it. Some days he would wear a suit. A person one day saw him get out of his car in the suit walking to the storage unit to begin his day. “So you own a business?” the person asked.  “Yeah, I sell furniture and desk accessories.” The person reminded the businessman that he worked out of a storage unit. “What you see is a storage unit. What I see is my company growing each day.”

Wednesday Motivation: Build A Good Team On The Way Up

Most people measure their progress on materialistic items from cars to homes. However, looking like the progress made in your job or business means more than that. As you’re enjoying the money, do you have the right people around you to help you keep making that money? According to Forbes Business Council Member James DiNardo, keeping a circle of success is important.   “As a business leader, you should be surrounded by people who elevate, encourage or challenge you. If you’re not, it’s time to expand your circles—both in person and online,” he said.

He added, “While I’ve spent decades investing in my own growth—professionally, personally and financially—I didn’t get here alone. No one does. Success isn’t self-made; it’s we-made.”

Wednesday Motivation: Yes, You Will Change And That’s Ok

In his letter to the Philippians, the Apostle Paul says this in Chapter 3 verse 13:

“…Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus…”

In this chapter Paul talks about rejoicing and looking ahead towards Christ in faith. He knows the success and blessing is there and on this journey, he will see and do amazing things. Notice there is the admission that he hasn’t got it just yet. However, he adds that he is fully focused on “…what is ahead“.  In not focusing on what’s behind, change can occur.

Many people deal with hurt of all sorts in their past, and it lingers because no one has validated it. Encourage yourself in your faith to know God saw it too and move forward! There’s nothing wrong with looking like the progress you’re making, but make sure you are mentally in that space as well.

Wednesday Motivation: A List of Things To Do

For this week’s Wednesday motivation, live out the following actions:

  1. Admit you’re not there yet, but you will get there. Along the way, have the attitude that you’re doing more each day and you’re getting better.
  2. Let the past go: Easier said than done? Yes. Doable? Also yes. You’re never going to grow into what you desire to be if you’re still focused on what’s behind you.
  3. Aim for what God has for you. Have faith the Lord Jesus Christ sees what’s going on and will respond to your faith in him.  Make every effort to pray each day over the pending assignments and watch what God does.

If these three things are done, you are guaranteed to look like the progress you’re making.

A Prayer For Your Wednesday Motivation Success

Lord, I’ve been working hard to get achieve my dreams, but I cannot do this without you. You see what I’m doing and how I’m doing it. Help me refine what needs to change, respond to the wins with maturity and grace, and have the motivation to keep going even when everyone says it’s never going to work.  I will trust, obey, and respond accordingly. May everyone see my success not to my credit, but yours. Amen.
