Have you ever searched high and low for something important, like your phone or keys? You don’t stop looking until you find what you’re looking for, right? In today’s Wednesday Wisdom, we will explore the idea of “seek and you will find”. When kids are young, one of the first games they love to play is Hide and Seek. Isn’t it interesting how childhood games prepare us for our adult life?
A Challenge and a Promise from Proverbs 2
Wisdom is a treasure worth pursuing. Proverbs 2 portrays Wednesday wisdom as something to be pursued. It doesn’t fall into your lap. It’s not always obvious. It takes listening, seeking, asking, and digging. But God isn’t hiding it from you. He’s waiting for you to discover it as one seeking great treasure.
Wednesday Wisdom Reminder
Proverbs 2:6 reminds us: “For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.”The wisdom we need for all the matters of life, such as parenting, decision-making, leadership, relationships, and more, all flows from God. And He gives it generously to those who ask (James 1:5).
Wisdom Protects and Guides
As the chapter continues, we learn that wisdom comes with a bonus—it is also a shield and a guide for our lives. Wisdom protects us from evil influences and keeps us on the path of integrity: “Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you.” (Proverbs 2:11, NIV)
Final Thoughts
Wisdom doesn’t shout over the noise of life. It whispers. We must lean in to hear it, open the Word, and quiet our hearts in God’s presence. When we pursue wisdom, we discover far more than just good advice. We find the heart of God, and with that, the inspiration to live and walk uprightly. That, along with the promise found in Matthew 7:7, which reminds us that if we seek, we will find.
Today, don’t just ask God for wisdom, but search for it passionately. Treasure it like gold, and watch how it transforms your decisions and your future for Wednesday wisdom.
Wednesday Wisdom Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, I want to be wise, not in my own eyes, but with Your wisdom. Teach me to treasure Your Word and listen to Your voice. Help me to seek You with my whole heart. Protect me as I walk through this life, shape my decisions, and guide me in truth. Thank you for being the source of all understanding. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
