Trusting God’s Process Through the Wait

trusting God's process means waiting with everything you got in your faith. Don't make brash decisions, just trust God.

Today’s Faith will require trusting God’s process. Today we travel to Jeremiah 18:4.Let’s talk honestly for a minute. Trusting God’s process can be tough. You pray, you wait, and sometimes it feels like nothing’s happening.

You try to do the right things, but life still throws you curveballs. It’s easy to wonder, “God, what are You doing with all this?” But here’s the thing: He’s working, even when it doesn’t look like it. Like a potter shaping clay, God is forming something good, even when your situation feels messy or uncertain.

Trusting God’s Process: He’s The Potter

When a potter first starts, that lump of clay doesn’t look like much. It’s uneven, rough, and has to be molded again and again. That’s what God does with us. He shapes, presses, and smooths out the parts that don’t belong, not to hurt us, but to make us stronger. Every season of waiting or confusion is a part of His shaping process. You’re not being forgotten. You’re being formed.

Sometimes trusting God’s process means letting go of what you can’t control. It means saying, “Lord, I don’t understand this, but I know You’ve got me.” When you do that, you stop fighting against what’s happening and start finding peace in it. You begin to realize that His timing isn’t late, it’s right on schedule. Every time you thought it was over, God was really setting something new in motion.

Why Trusting God’s Process Matters

When you trust God’s process, you stop living in constant frustration. You start to see your life differently. Think about Joseph, stuck in prison for years, or David waiting in the wilderness before he became king. They probably didn’t see how their story would turn out, but they stayed faithful through the waiting. God used every delay to prepare them for something greater.

It’s the same with you. The job you didn’t get, the relationship that didn’t work, the prayer that hasn’t been answered yet, God’s still working on it. He’s putting the pieces together in a way that only He can. So instead of stressing over what you can’t see, trust that His plan is still moving, even if it’s behind the scenes. Stay in prayer about it.

When you’re  trusting God’s process, you trade anxiety for peace. You stop trying to force outcomes and start following His lead. It doesn’t mean you give up; it means you give it over to the One who knows exactly what He’s doing. Take a moment and get that into your prayer journals.

Bible Verse To Consider

Jeremiah 18:4 says,  “But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.”

(To be said with friends or family)

  • Call: Lord, when I don’t understand what You’re doing…
Response: Help me trust Your hands are still at work.

  • Call: When things don’t go my way…
Response: Teach me to rest in Your plan.

  • Call: When my patience runs out…
Response: Remind me that Your timing is perfect.

  • Call: When I start to doubt…
Response: Strengthen my faith to keep believing.

Lord, I know You’re shaping my life even when I can’t see it. Help me to stop worrying about how things will turn out and instead trust that You’re already working it for my good. When I start to lose faith, pull me back into Your peace.

When life feels messy, remind me that You’re molding me into something new. I don’t want to rush ahead of You. I just want to stay in step with what You’re doing. Thank You for being patient with me, even when I’m impatient with You. Keep shaping my heart to trust You fully, one day at a time. In Jesus’ name, Amen. What has today’s faith required from you?
