Creating A Serene Patio Haven with Total Apex Media

How to install vertical gardens to improve home air quality

Most of us would enjoy a patio haven, a place where we can go to, unwind, and enjoy what the summer brings. Many things can be done to elevate this space, especially if you’re on a budget. Here are a few ideas to help your patio space become more livable.

Make Your Patio Space Cozy

Adding lighting can be one of the quickest and easiest ways to give your patio space a new look and feel. String lights or fairy lights are a very inexpensive way to add lighting to a patio. The dollar store has lanterns and solar lights for cheap, too. And if you’re into the old-fashioned charm, candle or LED flame lamps are also an option.

Seating is also important. Try to repurpose what you have by adding blankets for coziness and big pillows for relaxing. Look around and see what you already have on hand. Raid that linen closet! If you simply must have some new seating, check out Facebook Marketplace before spending a ton of money on new items.

Upgrading Your Space

Adding plants and greenery always adds to the coziness of an outdoor patio area. These plants can be real or fake, either will give you the feel you are looking for. If you go with real plants try to stick with perennials so you’re not having to replace them every year.

Maybe you want an outside dining space where you and your loved ones can dine al fresco. Find seating that’s comfortable and welcoming. Mix and match until you get exactly what you want. Don’t settle! This is where those wonderful memories are made!

And what about a fire pit? Don’t overdo your space. If you must have a fire pit then figure out how to make it mesh with everything else you’ve decided on. For instance, don’t do a huge fire pit along with a dining area. Maybe do a tabletop fire pit on top of your dining table situation. The purpose of an outside patio is to make sure it’s inviting, not overwhelming, and that there’s not a lot of upkeep.

And finally, don’t overlook the small touches, like outdoor rugs and decor. Again, look around at what you have on hand that can be used outside. Repurpose what you already have and love.

Enjoy What You Have

Enjoy your outdoor living space! Don’t let it absorb a bunch of your time maintaining it; that defeats its purpose. And you don’t need to spend a fortune making your space welcoming. Look at what you have on hand, peruse Facebook marketplace and your local dollar stores. Happy summer!
