Open Bible resting on grass, capturing a serene and contemplative moment outdoors, daily devotion

It’s time for your daily devotion and Monday motivation. Let’s start today with a powerful statement from the God who always blesses and encourages us. In Isaiah 41, God addresses His people through the prophet Isaiah. Some had been faithful, but others had turned to idolatry. However, His word to them is the same in verse 10:

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

In your daily devotion, praise God that you can walk without fear as He strengthens and upholds you,

Fear Not

Throughout Scripture, God makes this proclamation to His people: “Fear not.” God says it first to Abram in Genesis 15:1. Abram (who became Abraham) had fears, doubts, and questions, but he submitted to obedience and faithfulness to God. Although Abraham started with mixed feelings, he became the Father of Faith because he was faithful to God’s word.

Abraham’s life proves that when you trust God and walk with Him, you’re transformed from glory to glory. The more Abraham walked with God, the more faith replaced fear.  In today’s daily devotion, thank God you can be free from fear and full of faith.

Don’t be Dismayed

God doesn’t want us to be frightened, anxious, or nervous. God showed His faithfulness to Israel despite their history of sin, disobedience, and idolatry. God had made a covenant with Abraham that his descendants would be a great nation, they’d be blessed, and that all nations would be blessed through him. God always honors His word.

In verse 8, God says, “But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend.” We are Abraham’s spiritual descendants, and God’s promises are for us as well. In verse 9, God continues: “I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.”As people of God, we never have to be dismayed. In today’s daily devotion, see God as a covenant keeper and take Him at His word.

He Strengthens

When we are weak, God strengthens us. Along the journey, we experience episodes of weariness, but God is our present help. Abraham had gone childless and believed his servant would be his heir, but God assured him his heir would come from his own loins. Abraham believed God’s promise and received strength for the journey.

Before David became king, he and his men discovered their town had been burned while they were away. Their wives and children had been taken, and their strength dissipated. But when David received strength from the Lord, he arose, pursued his enemies, and restored everything that was lost.  In your daily devotion, don’t believe circumstances, believe the God who changes circumstances.

He Upholds

In verse 10, God promises to uphold His people, telling them they are His, they are chosen, and they are His redeemed. God had to change Abraham’s identity so that he could see himself the way God saw him, the father of a multitude. To walk with God, you must change your identity. You must turn from your old life and take on a new life.

Sarai had to become Sarah, Jacob had to become Israel, and Saul had to become Paul. God upheld His people with His power, favor, and blessings. Abraham believed in God, and it was accounted as righteousness. In this daily devotion, thank God that we are made righteous through Jesus Christ.

Final Word

In today’s daily devotion, you can believe God’s word. Abraham put His faith in God, although he wouldn’t see all God’s promises fulfilled in his lifetime. We are the result of God’s promises to Abraham. And God’s promise to bless the world through Abraham has been realized in Christ. Faith in Him changes our identity.

In Mark 8:34, Jesus says that “whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s,” shall save it. In 2 Corinthians 5:17, Paul calls you a “new creature” in Christ. The old has become new. Shout for joy in your daily devotion that you don’t have to fear or be dismayed. Your God is faithful, and He has promised to strengthen and uphold you forever.
